The legendary ‘Autodromo Nazionale di Monza’ hosted the Boss GP grid for the third meeting of the season. The Italian event saw a new record with 31 cars entered, including 23 in the Formula class in which Easy Formula is competing.
Gilles and Christopher, like the rest of the team, were discovering this famous high speeds circuit. The practice sessions were thus utilized to learn the circuit and adjust car’s settings.
Christopher was leaving on a very good pace in qualifying, but had to stop his car on the track side after just three laps due to a flat tyre. He had to settle for 4th position. Gilles meanwhile realized the 12th time and admitted not being very comfortable on this circuit.
Author of a great start, Christopher was in second position when Race 1 was red flagged following a violent storm. Gilles went through havoc of the first chicane to finish 7th. The weather was much better for Race 2, with sunshine and temperatures above 30 ° C. Several cars were hanging in the first lap, forcing the field to do a second start. At the restart, Christopher took the lead and won the race despite strong opposition from competitors. Gilles took the 9th position.
After the first half of the season, Easy Formula drivers are first and fourth in the championship standings.
