The fourth round of the Boss GP championship was the highlight of the Gamma Racing Days at TT Assen circuit. This meeting is one of the most popular in the Netherlands, and more than 100 000 spectators had found their way to attend the different races. The two times Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen was the guest of honor this year.
Because of the noise standards on the circuit, the Boss GP competitors had to deal with a condensed two-day program, with free practice, qualifying and race 1 on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday.
Having had to deal with a lot of traffic during qualification, Easy Formula drivers Christopher and Gilles ranked 3rd and 8th respectively in the Formula class. If Christopher was going to win a position at the end of the first race by crossing the line as runner up, Gilles slipped back to 12th after a collision with a competitor.
Both drivers saw the finish of the Sunday race at the same positions. Preferring provide significant championship points rather than risk everything for victory, Christopher showed himself satisfied after the Dutch race.
Next race meeting is scheduled on September 10 and 11 at Brno circuit, Czech Republic.
