For the penultimate meeting of the 2016 season, the Boss GP competitors had made the trip to Brno, Czech Republic.
Having finished all the previous races in the first or second position, Christopher had a comfortable lead before the Czech event and was able to secure the title of Formula class champion in case of another good result.
The meeting did not begin well, as the team could not find the appropriate settings on the natural roller coster of Brno. Getting the 7th and 9th time at the end of the qualifying session, the drivers realized their worst performance of the season. So the team’s technicians saw again thoroughly the setup of the cars.
The pace was much better in the first race and Gilles finished seventh. Christopher did a great start and was pointing in third position when he had to stop due to a mechanical problems a few minutes before the checkered flag. Starting from the back of the grid in the second race, Christopher did a fantastic comeback and managed to cross the finish line in third position, ensuring the victory in the championship! Surprised but delighted, Christopher was all smiles: “The team did a great job throughout the season and lock up the title before the last meeting is fantastic. We can now celebrate together. However, out of question to rest on our laurels, I will go to Imola in order to win.”
By finishing fifth, Gilles managed one of his best weekend of the year and remains in contention for a position on the championship podium.
Next round on the circuit Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola for the Boss GP SuperPrix.
