In 2016, Easy Formula reiterated its commitment to the Boss GP Championship. The abbreviation BOSS stands for Big Open Single Seaters. The races will be between the top classes from the international single-seater categories past and present. BOSS GP is officially authorised by the FIA as an ‘International’ Race Series. For this year there are 7 double-header events planned with 14 races in total, that will determine the championship titles in the Open class (F1, IndyCar, Champ Car) and in the Formula class (GP2, Superleague Formula, World Series by Renault …).
The Hockenheimring circuit in Germany received the first round of the championship, on April 16 and 17. With 23 cars, including 6 Formula One, the Boss races really were the highlight of the event. Easy Formula entered two of their Panoz Superleague cars.
The weather, very changeable, left no respite to the team forced to juggle between slick tires and wet tires. The harsh conditions on Saturday were not disturbed our drivers, Christopher on the car 117 finishing runner-up, while Gilles on the 118 taking the fifth position. Both would recur the next day, in a race that was disrupted by numerous incidents.
With no incident or technical issue during the whole meeting and with two cars in the top 5, the Easy Formula squad have left the German track happy about their season debut.
Next meeting on 14 and 15 May at the Red Bull Ring.
